Congratulations Gil Hays - Life Membership

Gil joined the club in 1988 to further his interest in walking and photography. Prior to joining the club he used to backpack fish. As his interest in photography developed he struggled at times whether to cast the fishing rod or photograph the setting sun!. Photography won out.
He had only been in the club a matter of months and found himself on the executive committee as Vice President and Membership Officer. He continued on the executive committee for the next 15 years with four years as President, four years as immediate past President, four years as Meetings Officer and now after 12 months break back as Social Secretary. He also held the position Photo Convenor twice and was the MC for Taddy’s (Ray Tadman) 80th birthday celebrations. He was the leader of many of the big club walks over the years and included the original club walk to Vanishing Falls, The Eldons, The Spires, The Franklin Range and others. Congratulations Gil!.
